3 Tips to End Burnout

Burnout is a huge problem for many potential entrepreneurs. They want to do ALL the things but can't keep up with the demands. Their energy is exhausted and they can no longer figure out what they want. Often, they are unfulfilled and trying to do everything to see if something will give them that purpose or fulfillment but it all just ends up lacking. That's because your purpose isn't outside yourself, it lives deep inside your heart space.

You know what and where you should be but you are turning your back on your true desires. Why? Perhaps you think the dream is dead. You are saying to yourself "I am too old." "I don't have enough training." There are a million and one excuses but they are all just limiting you. So today is the day to take back your energy and end the burnout! Here are my 3 tips to getting your energy back!

1. Plan an "Alone Day" NOW.
Take a day off from life and just be alone for a day. Rent an Airbnb or just stay in your room. Do what you want but do it completely alone ALL DAY. Wake up alone and go to sleep alone. Get used to facing yourself again. This is the hardest thing in the world to do but vital if you want to begin getting out of chronic burnout.

2. Start to track your energy each day.
This is a skill we should learn in school but we don't. We need to learn our energy and who and where it goes. A million different things can drain your energy but here are the most common.
- Treating your body in disrespectful ways
- Saying 'yes' to things you don't like or don't want to do
- Being around draining people
- Being addicted to negative emotions
- Stressful situations
- Allowing work to take over your life

I want you to take a daily account of your energy in a diary. It doesn't have to be long but make note of what is draining you and what gives you energy. For example, I may write something like this "I was very drained by that conversation I had but the nature walk gave me energy."

3. Cut something out of your life that is draining you. Then incorporate something into your life that gives you energy. YOU must become the master of your life and your energy. Time is a vital resource but we rarely talk about energy. It is 100% in our control so begin to say 'yes' and 'no' ON PURPOSE.

Say "no" to someone or something that you know will tip you over the exhaustion limit. Begin to resist filling your days up with things you don't need or things that are too much for you.

Say "yes" to something that gives you energy. This can be a whole host of things but learn to understand what you want in your life. Recently, for me, I realized that walking in nature really added to my energy so I began to do that more! Now I have more energy than ever before.
